Contour, the global trade finance network, today announced that it has received the ISO 27001 certification audit – the first by a blockchain-based digital trade finance network to obtain international recognition for its secure technology and processes.
ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 is the global standard for information security. The formal audit process, conducted by British Standard Institute makes it the strongest and most comprehensive single form of independent testament for any technology company, including software as a service (SaaS) providers.
Certification of Contour’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) gives its customers the confidence of its technology, internal controls and management of information security risks. Contour’s ISMS is part of the company’s wider commitment to secure technology and unique data privacy features.
Backed by the world’s leading trade banks, Contour is used as a core communication platform where banks and their customers collaborate and share information during letter of credit settlements, making a higher level of security a pre-requisite.
Aaron Seabrook, Chief Operating Officer at Contour, said: “The ISO 27001 certification cements Contour’s position as a leading digital trade finance network that complies with the highest standards for security. This is external validation that our technology and processes are aligned to international standards. Over the past 14 months since our production launch, our team has worked tirelessly to deliver industry best practices expected by the market and it is our commitment to continue doing so.”
